In celebration to the new year, we have prepared two new videos from YuiKaori to accompany everyone into celebration! They’re cuts from Yorunight x Yorunight (or more commonly known as YonaYona)’s 26th Episode where YuiKaori appeared as guests. Please have a pleasant New Year! Let’s face 2017 with a smile!
In the “new project” niconama that aired last October 25th, 2016, the stream included Director and Producers of the game, with the seiyuu of three of the five main characters, Ishihara Kaori (lead), Hidaka Rina and Ogura Yui. They announced that game will not be ending (as feared by some fans). The game will be continuing as well as it will have additional new characters, and an anime adaption has been announced as well. It is set for the Winter 2017 Anime Season line-up.
With the key visual released, the show will be animated by JC Staff. It will be directed by Nishikiori Hiroshi ( A Certain Magical Index, Azumanga Daioh) and Yoshioka Takao is supervising the series scripts. It is still not confirmed if the anime will run on a different premise in the same universe as a the game or not.
“The game is set in Goryoukan Academy, a new private senior/junior high school for girls with a vast downtown campus. This highly popular school has “another face” — a secret hidden side. It organizes and trains the special unit Fifth Force to protect the world from invisible supernatural entities known as “Oburi” that are devouring the world. A team of five trained with powers against the Oburi is to be chosen from the student body to perform missions. A new team leader has been appointed to assemble the five students: Miyama Tsubame (CV: Ishihara Kaori), Sumihara Satoka (CV: Hidaka Rina), Yaginuma Io (CV: Sawashiro Miyuki), Sajima Yumi (CV: Hanazawa Kana), Namori Mana(CV: Ogura Yui)” – ANN
The PV for the anime was also aired in the niconama stream in October.
The OP theme of the anime will be sung by the five main characters, Altile Torte, with the OP Single titled “Mirai-kei Strikers” (Lit. Futuristic Strikers). It will be released in five versions, one version per character including a solo version of the OP song by that specific character + a character song. The ED theme will be sung by Sumihara Satoka (CV: Hidaka Rina) and Namori Mana (CV: Ogura Yui), the same as the OP, it will be released in two versions, a solo version of that specific character + a character song.
The anime’s first episode will be airing on January 6th, 2017 in Tokyo MX.

Today was the release event for YuiKaori’s newest single “Promise You!!” There were two sessions, the noon and the evening sessions. It was also today, where their Live Tour dates were announced.
Earlier this year, in March, YuiKaori was finally able to take one full step to their dream of being able to perform in Budoukan. Part of their ‘Rainbow Canary 2015 ~ 2016 Tour’ it was concluded in Nippon Budoukan. When the two of them first debuted, it was their target, however it does not end there. It was just the beginning for YuiKaori.
Announced today were four dates for their 2017 tour.

Almost on par with the grandiose that is Budoukan, YuiKaori will be performing in Yoyogi National Stadium for the very first time since the start of their careers. Another step forward into their history.
Ticket Preliminary Lottery Applications will start at September 5th, 2016 MON (12:00 JST) until September 16th, 2016 FRI (18:00 JST) for Nagoya, Sendai, and Osaka Live. In celebration to Ogura Yui’s birthday and the completion of her first solo live tour, we have decided to translate this interview as a present to her and to each of her international fans. Please enjoy! ※ We also plan to translate the others within the year, at least.
YuiKaori’s 11th single “Ring Ring Rainbow!!” will be released on August 5th.
The title song, “Ring Ring Rainbow!!” is an opening theme for the TV Animation “Joukamachi no Dandelion” (Castle Town Dandelion) which both Ogura Yui and Ishihara Kaori also appeared in. Alongside a bright guitar sound, they sing in resonance about “Please look at me properly”, “I want to respond properly”, a song made for the siblings who are candidates to becoming the next King complete with a touch of comedy. As for Ogura and Ishihara, this song is also an answer song for the fans who supported them in their live in Chiba’s Makuhari Event Hall during the end of 2014. So we ask them again about their reasons and attitude going forward.

YuiKaori’s new single “NEO SIGNALIFE” has been released.
Ogura Yui, Ishihara Kaori, for both of them, the title for their first release in 2015, and this song boldly betrays YuiKaori’s image up to now, (in a good way). With a tough and quick digital beat, making it their own “new” (NEO) to “define” their start (SIGNALIZE), being a word which guides them towards the new “way of life”, it becomes a cute and powerfully striking song.
Ogura, Ishihara, which has been described in various way such as “cute”, “lovely”. While both of them had to overturn their public image midway, did they make their spirit and personal thoughts into words? And so we ask both of them.

Taking the year-end by storm, YuiKaori did a marvelous Kabedon (壁ドン lit. Wallpush) in their 2014 Live Tour, HEARTY PARTY! In its last day in Makuhari Messe, Chiba. We previously translated a detailed live report by 1523-san. The concert was also released in DVD and BD last June 3, 2015. Leveling up their friendship, gay, bonds, the audience had managed to persuade the two to create their own versions of the popular ‘Kabedon.’ Not to mention, in this release, we also manage to learn more about their favorite phrases/buzzwords in the year 2014!
Some of the notes in the videos are too short to fit the correct meaning. Below are an expounded version of them.
Notes:
Suspension Bridge Effect – The suspension bridge effect is a “misattribution of arousal”, in which someone experiences the effects of fear of a physical danger while meeting someone, and mistakenly believes that the other person is the cause of their physical responses (such as elevated heart rate, shortness of breath). O-prefix – O- is often added before the name of the person to express respect and politeness to that person. Source
Ishihara Kaori often calls Yui-chan, “O-Yui-san” or “Ogura-san” as part of her playful personality towards her.
Kabedon (壁ドン) – “kabe” meaning “wall” and “don” being the sound of someone hitting a hard object–like a wall. Source
There are different kinds of don as well. Such as yukadon (床ドン), Beddon (ベッドドン）etc. You may read this article to find out more.
